Growing in Unity as we Grow in Christ

HCC Bible Quilters

Bible quilters meet at HCC on Thursday mornings following Bible Study at 10 AM.  These ladies come together to create beautiful quilts based on various themes from the Bible.  Past quilt themes have included:  Crown of Thorns, Women of the Bible, Tree of Life, Dove at the Window, Job's Tears, and many more.  Shirley Legg is the leader of this ministry, and also travels around to many churches giving presentations of the quilts.  For more info, see the business card below.

Thursday Morning Ladies' Bible Study

All ladies are invited to the Thursday morning Bible Study which meets at the church at 9:00 AM.  The group is under the leadership of Shirley Legg, and is currently taking it's studies from the lesson printed in THE LOOKOUT, a weekly publication of STANDARD PUBLISHING.

Finding Christ In Everyday Life

For our fall 2008 Bible Study we will be exploring ways to "Find Christ in Everyday Life." To that end we will be offering two Bible studies to choose from.

1) "What A Husband Needs from His Wife" ~ by Melanie Chitwood

Melanie reveals why the best thing you can do for your relationship with your husband is to focus on your walk with God and let Him transform you-and your marriage. She shows how to:

* Find true fulfillment and identity apart form possessions or activities

* Enjoy greater companionship and intimacy

* Survive and thrive in stormy times

* Maintain a healthy and Christ like attitude

* And much, much more

2) "The Shack" ~ the #1 Bestseller by William P. Young

Here’s what others are saying about The Shack:

The Shack is the most absorbing work of fiction I’ve read in many years.  My wife and I laughed, cried and repented of our own lack of faith along the way.  The Shack will leave you craving for the presence of God.:  Michael W. Smith, Recording Artist

"This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress did for his.  It’s that good!”  Eugene Peterson, Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent College, Vancouver, B.C.  This work of fiction, MAKES YOU THINK!!!  If you are looking for a good read, don’t pass this one up!!

"WE GROW" will begin meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, and meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month for six weeks.  We will meet from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., in the Lighthouse classroom and dinner will be a part of our time together.  So plan to come out and join us as we build our relationship with God and with each other.

Child-care is now provided at the church!

Calling All MOM'S

  • Do you ever feel like you are being pulled in a thousand different directions?
  • Do you wish for time to reconnect with yourself and God?
  • Do you long to create friendships with other Christian Mom's?

Then Mom's Group is the place for you!

You are invited to join us as we start a new season on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th, 9:00 to 10:30 at the church.  (Child-care is provided, at the church.)

All mom's are welcome to join us as we celebrate the joys and pitfalls of motherhood together.  As mothers, each of us have special gifts, helpful advice and experiences to share with each other.  Each Mom's Group meeting is filled with opportunities for fellowship, prayer and utilizing God's Word on how to help in raising His children.  Whether your days are filled with changing diapers, handling your teen's latest "emergency" or in prayer for your adult child, there is a place for you in Mom's Group.  Feel free to join us and bring a friend.
