Highland Church of Christ
Growing in Unity as we Grow in Christ

Our MISSION is to make disciples by helping individuals to know, love and follow Jesus Christ.     based on Matthew 28: 18--20

Our GOAL is to develop a lifestyle of:

  • Evangelism:  everyone sharing the Good News!
  • Relationships:  everyone in Christ and with others!
  • Service:  everyone serving Christ!
  • Worship:  everyone responding daily to God!

We believe:

  • Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, born of a virgin, who died for our sins and arose from the dead.   1 Corinthians 15:1-8
  • The Bible is the inspired word of God.   2 Timothy 3:16
  • Man willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus.   Acts 4:12 & Romans 3:23
  • The Church is the body of Christ on earth and is made up of all Christians.    Acts 2:14-47 & Colossians 1:18
  • The gift of eternal life is available to all who believe in Christ (John 3:16), confess their faith to Him (Romans 10:9-10), repent of their sins and are baptized (immersed) into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38).
  • Jesus will one day return to earth to judge the living and the dead. Acts10:39-42 & 1Thessalonians 4:13-18

We Value:

  • The authority of scripture   2 Timothy 3: 16--17
  • The personal Lordship of Christ  John 14: 6--7
  • Active involvement in evangelism   Matthew 28: 18--20
  • Worship, both corporate and personal   John 4: 23--24
  • Service to the church and community   Galatians 5: 13
  • Fellowship that encourages and builds community   Philippians 2: 1
  • Prayer   Acts 2: 42
  • Excellence   Galatians 6: 4
  • Personal transformation and growth   Romans 12: 1--2
  • Sharing generously with all people   2 Corinthians 8: 1--5

We Practice:

  • Worship as part of our daily walk with Jesus
  • Daily prayer
  • Bible study as part of each day's activities
  • Stewardship: sharing my time, talent, money and faith with others
  • Services to the church and the community on a regular basis
  • Using and understanding spiritual gifts in ministry
  • Accountability to God and to His church
  • Fellowship that encourages and builds community on a regular basis
  • Compassion in acts of benevolence
  • Encouragement is often and readily shared

Highland Church of Christ is committed to the principles of our Chistian church heritage, as expressed by phrases like these:

  • No Creed but Christ
  • Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent
  • In essentials unity; in opinions liberty; and in all things love
  • We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.
